Delaney Dwyer set a Saguaro Lake record for 5 fish weighing an unbelievable 31.54 lbs, winning the TBA event on March 21st. Dwyer and partner Justin Patti targeted giant bass on deep beds and also threw reaction baits during the tournament..."I was actually supposed to be at Lake Havasu this week for the National Bass West event. I have won at Havasu this time of year and a few years ago I came close to breaking the lake record for total weight. I was really excited to get back to Havasu but I made a last minute decision to fish the TBA at Saguaro instead. The day before I was supposed to leave I took my son out to Saguaro Lake to catch a few with him before my trip. There were so many big fish up and crusing around. After we got off the water I knew if I stuck around to fish the tournament I could win with 30 to 35 lbs. I went back the next day to pre-fish and put a pretty good game plan together. I was confident that not only would I win, but I knew I could break the elusive 30 lb mark. No one had busted 30 lbs in a tournament in Arizona in nearly a decade so I knew this would be special. All the fish I had found in practice were still there in the tournament and it all came together. Bringing in 31.54 lbs to the scales here in Arizona is a day I won't forget." ~Delaney Dwyer
